The ntdll.dll, which appears to cause the crash, is a component of Windows. However another module may actually be causing the crash. To get more information on the crash I might suggest to try to obtain a user mode dump which has the potential to pinpoint the cause. You can configure Windows to create user-mode dumps. It just says it's an 'APPCRASH'. I know the program file now though: sdiagnhost.exe. Googled the program file, and found a forum post.
Hi R-VR, thanks for posting here.? So anyone please tell what is causing the 'ntdll.dll' crash issues. The causes of ntdll.dll error messages can vary greatly. However, most ntdll.dll errors result from a corrupt or damaged version of the ntdll.dll file itself, corrupt hardware drivers, or issues between Windows and other programs. Please try to use tool to check which method in your application is the root cause of this problem. Here is a document about how to fix ntdll.dll errors.
You could refer to. Sometimes I found that Internet Explorer 11 is also crashes due to 'ntdll.dll'. For this issue, I suggest you post it on Microsoft Community for better support. The application is sometimes crashes with Windows 8.1 Pro machines and the module name shows as 'ntdll.dll'. Sometimes I found that Internet Explorer 11 is also crashes due to 'ntdll.dll'. So anyone please tell what is causing the 'ntdll.dll' crash issues. Below are the screenshot for system information and event viewer entries.
Thanks, R-VR Don't be so fast to blame ntdll.dll for everything. In the first image, the faulting application was identified as cwAgent.exe and the Exception code was C0000005 which is an Access Violation. The first place to look is at the cwAgent.exe application because that is the process that created the error.
In the second instance, the faulting application was identified as Explorer.exe, the windows shell. This is not the same as Internet Explorer which is named Iexplore.exe. The Exception code was C0000374 which is heap corruption. It is more likely that a badly behaved shell extension loaded into Explorer.exe's process is the cause of the error and not the windows shell. Thanks RLWA32 for you reply, kindly see my comments: The first place to look is at the cwAgent.exe application because that is the process that created the error.
How can I troubleshoot this type issues in my application, please help. In the second instance, the faulting application was identified as Explorer.exe, the windows shell. This is not the same as Internet Explorer which is named Iexplore.exe. Sorry, it was a mistake, below are the original screenshot: Winword is also crashes due to 'ntdll.dll', kindly see the screenshot: Thanks, R-VR.
